Цель:

• образовательная: совершенствование умения изучающего чтения;

• развивающая: развитие внимания, памяти, логического мышления;

• воспитательная: формирование сознательного и беорежливого отношения к окружающей среде.

Задачи:

1. активизировать лексический материал по изучаемой теме;

2. снять языковые (лексические) трудности (текст);

3. проработать коммуникативную ситуацию «Материки и страны» (Мир вокруг нас).

Языковой материал: a continent, South Pole, climate, a penguin, a seal, a squid, a polar bear, a scientist, a station, to follow the rules, to protect nature.

Речевой материал: текст «Antarctica».

Оснащение урока: раздаточный материал, словарные карточки.

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент

Проверка готовности к уроку, создание атмосферы иноязычного общение.

Good morning, pupils! Make sure you are ready for the lesson. Who is absent today?

Доброе утро, учащиеся! Убедитесь, что вы готовы к уроку. Кто сегодня отсутствует?

2. Введение в тему урока

Представить тему урока, активизировать лексический материал по теме.

Look at the blackboard, what can you see there? Right you are, these are all continents. Let’s read them together: North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia. Today we are to travel to a special continent. Look at the pictures and guess, where will we go today? That’s right, we’re going to Antarctica.

Read, please, the words on the blackboard: a continent, South Pole, climate, a penguin, a seal, a squid, a polar bear, a scientist, a station, to follow the rules, to protect nature. Match the words with the pictures.

Join into the groups of two, take the handouts and read the text. Cooperate with your partner to fill in the blanks in your copies of text. After reading, answer the question: which animal does not live in Antarctica.

Antarctica is a big continent at the South Pole. It is very cold and windy, not many plants live there. It is mostly ice and snow.

The climate is very cold in winter. Summer is a bit warmer. It does not rain much, it snows.

Penguins live in Antarctica. They are big black and white birds. Penguins cannot fly but they swim well. They eat fish and small sea animals.

Seals live on the ice and in the sea. They are grey and brown. They are big to stay warm, they eat fish and squid.

Polar bears do not live in Antarctica. Polar bears live in the Arctic at the North Pole. They are white and big, they eat sea fish.

Scientists live in stations in Antarctica. They study weather and animals. Visitors follow rules to protect nature.
