T: Good morning, children. How are you? I`m glad to see you, take your seats, please. I have a message for you.

Look at the screen and watch the video.

What is the main idea of the message?

What are we going to talk about? 

You are right today is the 30^th of March.

the title of our lesson is “Save the Earth”

We can understand from this message that there are problems with the environment. Is it possible to understand from this message what the problems are? Can we solve any problem if we don`t know anything about it?

T: What is the aim of our lesson?

T: Well, and today we`re going to learn about the most serious problem, problem of air pollution and acid rain.

To see the results of our work at the end of the lesson I suggest making a poster where we will show the problem and its causes as well as ways to solve the problem. Let's plan our work. Read all tasks for today and put them in order.

T: Well done. Open your students` books at page 76. 

Look at the pictures. What can you see in the pictures? 

T: Very good, now look at the picture again and the headings 

in the text on page 77 and please, try to explain the problem.

Any problem has causes and results. Look at the board. Here you can see pictures. Tell me what you can see in the picture and divide them into groups.

In the first picture  I can see a power station, factory, toxic fumes, factory waste. In the second picture I can see factory waste and 

polluted clouds. In the third picture I can see loss of natural 

habitats, air, water and soil pollution, fish and plant species dying, acid rain.

Ознакомительное чтение.

Учащиеся смотрят на картинки учебника и заголовки в тексте и формулируют проблему. 

S: Factories and power stations burn coal, cars burn petrol and emit toxic fumes. This causes air pollution and acid rain. Acid rain falls on the earth, seas, rivers causing water and soil pollution. A lot of fish and plant species are dying.

Формулируем проблему с опорой.

Учащиеся читают текст про себя и заполняют пропуски. Слова, выделенные жирным 

шрифтом, смотрят в словаре.

Затем слушают текст в аудиозаписи и проверяют слова

Учащиеся называют проблему или следствие проблемы и распределяют их по группам. (Приклеивают на постер).

Тренировка в репродуктивных упражнениях

Учащиеся тренируются в репродуктивно-продуктивных упражнениях.

T: you have very important advice in your students` books. Let`s read Study Skills.

T: Well, let`s make notes under the headings. You will work in groups. The first group will make notes under the headings:

• What acid rain is

• What causes it

The second group will make notes under heading:

• What effects it has

The third group will make notes under headings:

• What governments are doing

• What we can do

Один учащийся читает вслух study skills.
