What is a state?
A state is an administrative and political unit with its own authority and laws. States have different rights in different countries: in some they are completely independent, in others they are restricted in matters such as international affairs and finance.

California is the most populous state in the United States of America with a population of almost 40 million people. It was part of Mexico until 1848, when it became part of the United States. In 1850, it officially became the 31st state.

FLORIDA
The state of Florida is located in the southeastern United States on the peninsula of the same name. It is a land of oranges, beaches and theme parks such as Disney World. Florida was discovered by the Spanish in 1513 and was under their control until 1821, when it became part of the United States, and in 1845 it became a state.

New York
New York State was founded by the Dutch in 1614. In 1788, it became one of the first states in the United States. The state is home to the famous Statue of Liberty. New York City is also known for its scenic landscapes, including Harriman Park.

Nevada is the 36th state in the United States founded by Mormons in the 1850s. The region is known for its mountain ranges and valleys. On the border with California is an incredibly beautiful Lake Tahoe. The entertainment city of Las Vegas has brought great popularity to the state.

MASSACHUSETTS
Massachusetts is one of the first states of the United States founded by the British in XVII century. In 1621, Thanksgiving was born here. Boston is home to the Freedom Trail associated with the Revolution. Brooklyn is famous for the Anderson Museum and the JFK House Museum, and Cambridge is home to Harvard University.

ARIZONA
Arizona has a rich history, dating back to exploration by the Spanish in the 16th century. It became the 48th U.S. state in 1912. Among its attractions are: The Chapel of the Holy Cross, Montezuma Castle National Monument, and the Grand Canyon are among the seven natural wonders of the world.

COLORADO
Colorado was explored by the Spanish in the 16th century and became the 38th U.S. state in 1876. Among its attractions are: The Royal Gorge Bridge and Mesa Verde National Park, which is one of the best archaeological sites of the Pueblo's ancestors.

ILLINOIS
Illinois was founded by the French in the 18th century and became the 21st U.S. state in 1818. Among its attractions are: Springfield, which is home to the Abraham Lincoln House Museum, Chicago, which is home to the Willis Tower, as well as the Fort de Chartres and Cahokia Mounds historic sites.

Washington
Explored by the British, it became the 42nd state of the United States in 1889, the only state named after it. the president. Olympic Park is one of the attractions. The White House in Washington is also the official residence of the US president, a symbol of the state and a cult landmark.
